Why Wow Flowers from Strategi Solutions?

Most people love receiving flowers, they convey a message of love, happiness, sadness, thoughts of new beginnings. When Wendy and Michaela enrolled for their floristry course at Newcastle Under Lyme College in 2024, they wanted to be able to create these messages for their friends and family. What they didn’t anticipate was that they’d love making arrangements so much that they felt they could widen the show of love to those less fortunate.

Wow Flowers was launched as a way of spreading that joy to others who may need more support. Following a very successful charity campaign for the UHNM Breast Care centre in Stafford in 2023/24, the focus for Strategi Solutions with the help of Wendy and Michaela during 2025 is to raise awareness and greatly needed funds for the Alzheimer’s Society who coincidentally has a Forget Me Not flower as it’s logo. Michaela’s dad has Alzheimer’s and she sees first hand the difficulty this brings, not just to her dad, but to her entire family. What could be better than to raise money for this worthwhile cause, whilst introducing people to floristry skills for the first time.

It’s clear that keeping our brains active helps with our long-term brain health and the combination of sharing the skills learned with other women, organisations and charity fundraisers goes some way to giving something back.

Over the next year, we will be organising events related to making flowers. Wendy and Michaela will give their time for free and we will raise money for our charity and hopefully yours from the proceeds from each event. Have an idea on how we can work together, get in touch.

we’re Passionate about flowers, dedicated to making a difference.

Hello, I’m Wendy and I’m delighted to be part of WOW Flowers.  I’ve always been passionate about giving something back and what better way than to do this with the design and creation of floral displays that will not only make people happy, but also to help support the charities who are helping those less fortunate.

Having never thought of myself as creative, I joined the Floristry course at Newcastle Under Lyme College with Michaela as something I’d always fancied doing.  Little did I know that I would be absolutely entranced by art of flowers and go on to become a qualified florist.

My style is organic, contemporary and fun.  My favourite flowers are Ranunculus because it has so many petals and I love using Eucalyptus because it smells fantastic.

Hi I’m Michaela and I’m so excited to be setting up WOW Flowers with Wendy.

Before embarking on my floristry journey in February 2024, I had attended the traditional wreath making classes every Christmas and developed my skills further by creating my own Spring and Summer wreaths, in addition I always liked to have fresh flowers around the house and always tried to style them accordingly, so enrolling onto the Floristry course at Newcastle-under-Lyme College was an easy decision for me, as I knew it would develop my skills and enhance my already founded passion for flowers.

Since I have qualified, I love being able to create floral arrangements for my family and friends, I love thinking about colours, flowers that complement each other, flowers that are associated with the celebration and creating an arrangement that will bring joy to the recipient.

I would describe my style as modern, using clean lines and geometric shapes.  I love embracing asymmetry, bold colour combinations with a focus on the individual character of each flower.

My favourite flower is the Gerbera, closely followed by the Daisy.

Creating WOW flowers is all about giving back, and what better way to combine my love for creating floral arrangements whilst also supporting charity.
